A group of fiber artists who come to together to challenge and inspire each other, this exhibit features a theme each year. Natasha Lehrer Lewis is a member of the group and her piece will be a part of the exhibit. The theme this year is "Boxes".
"Inside the Mind of the Artist" takes the audience through Natasha Lehrer Lewis' journey as shepherd, entrepreneur, artist and educator. Learn about the inspiration behind the art and take a fresh, new look at the world around you with an artists' eye. Memoirs and stories, as well as adventures and discoveries, will be shared as you learn how she takes it from "sheep to chic" with her wearable art.
Two Day Workshop on Wednesday and Thursday will be on creating a nuno felted vest with minimum sewing and maximum style! Register through the guild.
While enjoying warm hot chocolate, she’ll make a wet felted flower pin and learn about fiber arts! Make a beautiful scarf here at Esther's Place. Class is offered through Waubonsee Community College's "Unique Local Experiences" program. Delight in a river of beautiful colors and designs as you create your very own scarf under the guidance of acclaimed fiber artist Natasha Lewis! Using a few simple materials and a little creativity, you’ll design a beautiful scarf for yourself or someone special. Made from 100% silk and measuring 8 inches x 72 inches, you’re sure to impress! Please bring an apron– everything else is provided.

Called laminate or nuno felting, the process of fusing wool to gauzy fabric is magical, mesmerizing and marvelous! A technique that allows for full artistry and also eliminates sewing, it is used to make wearable, sculptural and wall art. Natasha Lehrer Lewis will be demonstrating how it transforms from sheep to shawl as she walks you through the entire process. Come learn and be amazed at the breadth and depth of this medium!
Farm Tours at 10:30, 12, 1:30 and 4 pm to see the little lambs all grown up! Pick apples and press cider on a century-old cider press. Visit the farmstand to pick out wonderful produce and a favorite pumpkin! Make a felted pin, enjoy tasty goodies and have fun with this free event. Fun for the whole family!
