Homeschool Class
First Wednesday of the Month 9-noon. Ages 6- 12. Limit of 15 registrants. A fun blend of art, agriculture, cooking, hands on learning, and creativity- with a healthy snack too!
2023-2024 Year: Color! Let’s dive into the wonderful world of color- in nature, in our lives, in pigment and in concept. Please let us know ahead of time of any food allergies.
October 4th- Red
We’ll harvest and make an all red vegetable soup together, write a poem, and create a felted leaf mug rug
November 1st- Orange
Learn about the color orange’s history, create an orange pomander that will smell amazing, and create a little needle felted pumpkin stack!
December 6th- Yellow
Celebrate the season as we create beeswax candles, wet felted luminaries and read and write stories in a cozy nook complete with hot cocoa!
January 10th (2nd week of the month) - Blue
We’ll be playing games and create our own haiku poems, paint a watercolor winter scene, and making homemade all naturally colored blue marshmallows!
Feb. 7- Indigo
Learn about the process of growing, harvesting and making indigo into color. Then, we’ll dye a dish towel! Make a resist and block painting in a traditional Japanese style. And we’ll make some fun sushi for a snack!
March 6- Green
Let’s make an array of healthy green snacks, and start some seeds. We’ll be creating a felted pea pod with a surprise and a paper leaf garland.
April 3rd- Violet
We’ll be making a purple flower corsage (or crown if you’d like), create an acrostic poem, learn about the history of purple and set up and serve a purple themed tea party
May 1st- Rainbows
Create a sparkling swirl jar, weave a rainbow and make a loaf of rainbow bread to take home!
